Salinas, Ecuador hosted 17 coaches, five of which were female, from 12-16 June for a Level 3 Technical Course for Coaches.
This course aims to develop experienced level 2 coaches, enabling them to take a senior role within their national training structure teaching them how to deliver race/performance sessions effectively. Candidates are confident racers with a variety of coaching experience.
Cristina Donoso, a coach from San Pablo Yacht Club in Quito commented, “This course, just as the Level 1 and 2, has helped me a lot to be a better coach. The Level 3 was more specific about the racing and it has given me a lot of tools to use and apply to my sailors.”
Jonathan Martinetti, coaches at the Salinas Yacht Club and added, “It was a great course with a special focus on goals and how to transmit very clear messages to sailors about their abilities and potential.”
Technical Coordinator of the Ecuadorian Sailing Federation, Nicolas Francchia, concluded, “With this Level 3 course we rose the bar higher and will now be able to speak the same language with all coaches to produce more technical sailors and to develop practical training programs.”
