The Business
World Sailing is the world governing body for the sport of sailing, officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

World Sailing is responsible for: the promotion of the sport internationally, managing sailing at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, developing the Racing Rules of Sailing and regulations for all sailing competitions, the training of judges, umpires and other administrators, the development of the sport around the world and representing the sailors in all matters concerning the sport.

The Role
We are seeking a full time Race Officials Manager to work at the Executive Office in Southampton, Great Britain. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Events and must have a practical understanding of the role of Race Officials in the sport of Sailing.

Key Responsibilities
Support the work and development of World Sailing Race Officials, including Race Officers, Judges, Umpires and Measurers, Expression Judges, Paralympic Classifiers, Technical Delegates and any new disciplines that are introduced.
 
Work with and provide administrative services to a range of World Sailing Committees and working parties including the Race Officials Committee and its four sub-committees, Match Racing and Team Racing sub-committees.
 
Act as a line manager for specific staff within the Events team.
 
Manage the annual program of World Sailing Race Official clinics and seminars.
 
Implement and support a performance assessment program for World Sailing Race Officials.
 
Promote and develop World Sailing Race Official policies and guidelines at international events including the Regional Games, World Sailing Events and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
 
Supervise the event appointment of World Sailing Race Officials by World Sailing and be the staff member of the Event Appointments Working Party
 
Implement and promote an international development program for World Sailing Race Officials. 
 
Support the Technical Delegates of the Youth Match Racing and Women’s Match Racing World Championships and manage the bid processes for these events.
