Background

World Sailing is the world governing body for the sport of sailing, officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

World Sailing is responsible for:

  • the promotion of the sport internationally;
  • managing sailing at the Olympic and Paralympic Games;
  • developing the Racing Rules of Sailing and regulations for all sailing competitions;
  • the training of judges, umpires and other administrators;
  • the development of the sport around the world; and
  • representing sailors in all matters concerning the sport.

The principal members of World Sailing are the 145 ‘Member National Authorities’ (MNAs) and the 100+ ‘Class Associations’.

Role

The Integrity Manager will develop and implement World Sailing Integrity frameworks working closely with all World Sailing Departments and with key stakeholders in the following key areas:
• Anti-Doping
• Safeguarding
• Anti-Corruption

Support the WS Director of Legal and Governance and WS Director of Events in all matters relating to the strategic planning and operational delivery of the integrity programmes, and
with bespoke integrity projects for World Sailing events.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and develop the WS Anti-Doping Programme and the implementation of WADA Codes and Standards including test plans, education and results management
fulfilling the role of WS Anti-Doping Officer.

• Managing Anti- Doping Testing for World Sailing Events
• Managing Anti-Doping Results Management for World Sailing Events
• Work across departments and committees in the development of policy and processes for WS Safeguarding Programme fulfilling the role of designated safeguarding lead.
• Safeguarding case management
• Development of a Safeguarding Strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Develop and implement organisation-wide education on Integrity subjects including but not limited to Anti-Doping; Safeguarding; Anti-Betting/Anti-Wagering Corruption in collaboration with IOC and IPACS initiatives
• Implement and develop the advancement of work within WS on athlete/performance welfare/well-being matters in partnership with the WS
Medical Commission, Athletes Commission, Coaches Commission, Key partners (IF’s/IOC) and other expert groups, where appointed and applicable.
• Provide support to the following World Sailing Committees: Medical Commission
• Any other business as directed by the Director of Legal & Governance

• World Sailing staff, Board, World Sailing Committees (listed above), Member National Authorities and Class Associations.

• Organising Committees for multi-sport and World Sailing events

Personal Attributes & Experience

Essential

• Experience and awareness of integrity matters within sport – safeguarding, anti-doping and anti- corruption issues.
• Excellent written and verbal English language skills;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
• Solutions focused, pragmatic and practical in approach;
• The ability to meet tight deadlines;
• Evidence of working within and contributing to a team environment;
• A willingness to learn new skills and develop existing competencies;
• Excellent organisation skills with high level of competency in word, excel, databases, online filing;
• Ability to undertake international travel (with appropriate notice).

Desirable
• Have worked for international federations
• Understanding of and experience in sailing or another Olympic sport.
• Second European language.
• Knowledge of online data management systems – Eg: ADAMS
