Join World Sailing in celebrating the sixth edition of Steering the Course by celebrating the steps taken towards gender equity. Our theme for 2026 is Give to Gain.
Building on five years of progress, this year’s Steering the Course connects directly with the 2026 International Women’s Day theme, ‘Give to Gain’ – a reminder that everyone benefits when we offer support, mentorship and opportunities.
In sailing, that means supporting more women and girls to discover their potential, progressing their skills, and stepping into roles as athletes, coaches, race officials and leaders.
When will Steering the Course run?
2026 will see two festivals take place. Events can be run in whichever festival suits your calendar best, even both.
- Festival 1 – Friday 22 May–Sunday 31 May 2026
- Festival 2 – Friday 25 September–Sunday 4 October 2026
