As part of World sailing’s going work towards the Olympic sailing competitions and Olympic vision, data is being collected and used to drive future decisions on Olympic Equipment.

Equipment Evolution Survey

World Sailing welcomes input from the Olympic sailing community on the equipment used in Olympic competitions to help inform decisions on the evolution of equipment under World Sailing regulation 11.6; please use this form to give feedback on equipment used at events already confirmed for the 2032 Olympic Games (ILCA 6/7, iQFOiL M/W, 49er &49er FX).

Incident reporting form

The purpose of this form is to support ongoing monitoring of equipment performance, safety, manufacturing quality, and compliance with class rules – please use this form to report failures of specific equipment items.

Olympic Equipment Evolution Form

World Sailing welcomes feedback from the Olympic sailing community on the equipment used in Olympic competition. This form supports World Sailing’s review and evaluation processes under Regulation 11.6 of the World Sailing Regulations by gathering structured input on equipment performance, accessibility, reliability, cost, availability, sustainability and suitability for Olympic sailing.

Please respond to each question using a score from 1 to 5, where 1 means very poor or a major limitation, and 5 means excellent or no meaningful limitation.

The purpose of this form is to support ongoing monitoring of equipment performance, safety, manufacturing quality, and compliance with class rules – please use this form to report failures of specific equipment items.

Sailors, coaches, technical staff, and Member National Authorities (MNAs) are encouraged to report any issues encountered, ranging from structural failures and premature wear to performance inconsistencies or safety concerns. The information gathered will help identify trends, improve equipment standards, and ensure fairness and reliability across all Olympic classes.

All submissions are treated with appropriate confidentiality, and respondents may choose to remain anonymous. The data provided will be used solely for equipment evaluation, safety assurance, and regulatory purposes in line with World Sailing policies.

Your feedback is essential in maintaining the integrity, safety, and high performance of Olympic sailing equipment.

Information submitted through this form will be managed under World Sailing’s whistleblowing procedure.
