Entries open for Sailing at the 2026 World Abilitysport Youth Games

The Youth Games will provide an inclusive, multi-sport environment, bringing together young athletes from around the world. Within this framework, sailing will offer a dedicated opportunity for Under-25 Para athletes to compete internationally and begin their progression along the Para Inclusive Sailing pathway. 

The event represents an important step within World Sailing’s development structure, linking directly to wider initiatives including the Inclusive Development Programme (IDP) and the World Sailing Inclusion Championships (WSIC). 

Entry Process

Entries must be submitted through: 

• Member National Authorities (MNAs)  
• National Paralympic Committees (NPCs)  

Athletes interested in participating are encouraged to contact their MNA or NPC at the earliest opportunity to express their interest and begin the entry process. Places are limited, and early engagement will be key to securing participation. 

The Youth Games are designed to provide a high-quality, inclusive competition environment, with Para sailing integrated as part of the programme. 

For Under-25 athletes, this offers: 

• International racing experience within a multi-sport setting  
• Exposure to classification processes and Para competition structures  
• A clear entry point into World Sailing’s Para Inclusive Sailing pathway  

The 2026 World Abilitysport Youth Games form a key part of World Sailing’s commitment to developing the next generation of Para sailors. With increasing global participation and a growing calendar of events, the pathway into international competition continues to expand. 

This event provides a unique opportunity for emerging athletes to gain experience, build confidence, and take the next step in their sailing journey.
