Every event counts for ranking points. Results go through the World Sailing algorithm and calculate the World Standing of all sailors in that event category. These are published every four months - the most recent publication was the 31 January.
In November 2025, at the World Sailing Annual Conference, it was voted to change the Para Inclusive Sailing ranking system to become event-based rather than equipment-based.
What does this mean?
It means that rather than being tied to specific equipment, all those sailing in a specific category are now calculated equally, creating a more equitable platform.
The following categories are calculated:
- Disabled Men – One-Person
- Disabled Women – One-Person
- Inclusive – One-Person
- Disabled Men – Two-Person
- Disabled Women – Two-Person
- Inclusive – Two-Person
- Intellectual Impairment
- Visual Impairment
- Athletes with High Support Needs
How can I be included in the Rankings?
- Sailors must have a SailorID
- To be counted in the “Para” Rankings: Sailors must be classified and appear on the Classification Master List
