World Sailing, the international governing body for the sport of sailing, welcomes and is fully supportive of today’s announcement of the formation of the America’s Cup Partnership (ACP) - a historic alliance of five founding teams committed to a new era of shared governance, sustainability, and long-term growth for sailing’s oldest and most prestigious trophy'

The America’s Cup Partnership – comprising Emirates Team New Zealand (NZL), Athena Racing (GBR), Luna Rossa (ITA), Tudor Team Alinghi (SUI) and K-Challenge (FRA) – marks a transformative moment in the 174-year history of the America’s Cup.

World Sailing applauds the founding teams and supports the collective commitment by leading teams to invest in a stable sporting calendar, shared governance and sustainable funding which underscores the potential of elite sailing to thrive on the global sports stage.
