Competitors and officials are arriving in earnest and the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships are a matter of days away.
Over 400 of the best young sailors on the planet from up to 70 countries are descending on Vilamoura with medals up for grabs in 11 events across six classes.
And there are a range of ways to stay across the action…
What is the schedule?
After a weekend which includes the opening ceremony and practice races, the competitive racing begins on December 15, which is the first day of racing for all classes.
Action begins at 12pm local time on the first four days of competition, and 11am on December 19, when racing concludes and medals will be handed out.
Friday then concludes with a closing ceremony at 7pm.
Which classes are racing?
This regatta mirrors the format of Olympic sailing with the ILCA 6 (Male & Female One-Person Dinghy), the 420 (Female & Male/Mixed Two-Person Dinghy), the 29er (Female & Male/Mixed Skiff), the Nacra 15 (Mixed Multihull), the iQFOiL Youth (Male & Female Windsurfer), and Formula Kite (Male & Female Kiteboarding).
Where can I watch it?
The World Sailing TV YouTube channel will be broadcasting each day of competitive action.
The stream will go live 15 minutes before each scheduled start, giving viewers the key context for the day – what to expect on the racecourse, the conditions, and the highlights to watch out for.
Luisa Peres and Lourenco Mateus will be the hosts, joined by an array of guests including Portuguese Olympic sailor Eduardo Marques and Luis Rocha, the National Technical Director at the Portuguese Sailing Federation.

Due to races running concurrently, the live stream will not cover every single race, but it remains the best place to see the action unfold.
