2.4mR Inclusive World Championship 2025 final day marks the end of an epic event

The event brought together the very best of the international sailing community, uniting sport, inclusion, culture, and friendship in a true celebration of excellence, with sailors representing 17 nations.

Jeffrey Linton (USA 160) is the new 2.4mR Overall World Champion, maintaining his lead from the very first race. Winner of the Women’s competition, and a well-deserved second place in the Open category, Britain’s Megan Pascoe (GBR 173),  consistently ranked among the top competitors throughout the week. In third place, after an impressive comeback in the final days, was Urs Infanger (SUI 1022) of Switzerland.

The Open ranking matches the Overall classification, while in the NOD ranking (including NOD Para), Italy’s Antonio Squizzato (ITA 112) claimed the top spot, followed by Marko Dahlberg (FIN 196) in second and Otto Dahlberg (FIN 203) in third.

In the NOD Para category, Italy once again shone with Antonio Squizzato (ITA 112) taking first place, followed by Chuck Allen (USA 186) and another Italian athlete, Davide Di Maria (ITA 104), in third.

A week of high-level sailing and inclusion

The Championship program spanned five days: an opening ceremony and practice race followed by four competition days. Sailors faced challenging and variable weather conditions — light afternoon breezes during the first three days and a stronger Peler wind on the final morning.

A single fleet of 56 competitors raced together from start to finish, completing 10 races thanks to the excellent work of the race committee. All categories — Open, NOD, and NOD Para — competed side by side, embodying the true spirit of inclusion that defines this event.

Beyond the racing

The week was enriched by numerous moments of conviviality and celebration, both on and off the water, supported by the event’s partners and sponsors.

A particularly meaningful highlight was the participation of ULSS 9 Scaligera’s disability support associations, whose guests were able to experience sailing firsthand through guided visits and scenic outings aboard the historic vessel Siora Veronica.

The event’s success was made possible thanks to Main Sponsor Intesa Sanpaolo, in collaboration with World Sailing and the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV).

The Championship was held under the patronage of the Veneto Region, Province of Verona, Municipality of Malcesine, and BIM Adige – Province of Verona, in partnership with World Sailing and FIV.
