World Sailing survey to help shape the future of VI sailing
World Sailing’s Match Racing Committee has launched a new survey to collate input from Visually Impaired sailors and anyone involved in VI racing, including helm, crew, coaches, organisers, supporters, and officials.
The survey focuses on Match Racing, but feedback from all areas of VI racing and sailing is welcomed and encouraged.
Please take a few minutes to complete and share the survey here.
The deadline for completion is 15 October 2025.
Responses will directly influence World Sailing’s planning for the 2025–2028 cycle: event formats and venues, classification capacity, training opportunities, guide and helm support, and equipment/adaptations, but also the future of Para Inclusive Sailing.
Betsy Alison, Member of World Sailing’s Para Sailing Committee and Match Racing Committee, said, “Data we don’t have is opportunity we miss. Even if you’re not currently active, your experience matters. We’ll share a short summary of key findings once compiled. The data also strengthens the case for expanding VI racing internationally and helps us target funding and logistics where they will have the biggest impact. We would like to thank the Visually Impaired sailing community for sharing their time and experiences to help shape the sport and create a thriving future for VI racing.”
