Announcement of Vice Presidential candidates standing for election in 2025
World Sailing's Election Panel overseeing the 2025 Election of World Sailing's Vice Presidents is pleased to announce the candidates standing for election this November.
The election of two Vice Presidents will be conducted at the World Sailing General Assembly on Saturday 8 November 2025 at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, where World Sailing Member National Authorities, in good standing with World Sailing and eligible to vote in an election under Article 14 of the Constitution, will be able to cast their votes.
Candidates eligible for election at the 2025 General Assembly, in alphabetical order by surname, are:
Vice Presidential Candidates:
- Corinne Migraine (FRA), nominated by France.
- Anne Sofie Munk-Hansen (DEN), nominated by Denmark.
- Sophia Papamichalopoulos (CYP), nominated by Cyprus.
- Kay Rawbone (GBR), nominated by Hong Kong, China.
- Aiko Saito (JPN), nominated by Japan.
- Ruslana Taran (UKR), nominated by Ukraine.
One other candidate was nominated, but ruled ineligible to stand by the Elections Panel, in accordance with Article 23.4 of the Constitution. The candidate is a national of a country which is the same as one of the existing Vice Presidents.
Controlling and regulating the Election process is World Sailing’s Election Panel, Margot Foster AM OLY (Chair), Niels Lindholm, Jon Napier and Phil Cotton.
