World Sailing Director of Events Alastair Fox to leave federation after over 16 years of service to our sport

Alastair, who joined World Sailing in 2007, has decided to step down after a tenure which has taken in four Olympic Games and four Sailing World Championships. A decision on his replacement will be made in due course.

David Graham, CEO of World Sailing, said: “Alastair has been with us for 16 years, progressing from his initial role as Events Manager to take on the significant responsibilities that go with being Technical Delegate for the London, Rio and Tokyo Olympic Games.

“During that period, he has been the face of our major events, known to sailors in every corner of the world for his pragmatism and his ability to find solutions to complex problems. The experience that comes with his tenure is unparalleled in our sport.

“We will miss him, and, on behalf of the World Sailing Board and his colleagues, we wish Alastair all the very best in his future endeavours.”

Alastair Fox, World Sailing Events Director, said: “I have been privileged to work for the sport I love and built a family of great friends around the world as well as a top team who I will miss working with. I am looking forward to new opportunities building on the experience I have gained at World Sailing.”
