France’s Basile Jacquin secured the 2019 IFCA Slalom World Championship title after seven action packed days of racing in Sylt, Germany.

Jacquin secured the title ahead of Gunnar Asmussen (GER) and Vincent Langer (GER).

“I’m really happy to have won the slalom world championship title. We had a great and exciting competition here on Sylt. My equipment was perfectly set up and it all just went really well for me,” commented Jacquin after his win.

Slalom races were held on the final day but Jacquin already had a comfortable lead so that his overall victory was no longer in danger, regardless of the outcome of the fifth slalom elimination. The winner of the day was 2018 Defending Slalom World Champion Enrico Marotti from Croatia ahead of Asmussen and Langer. In fourth and fifth place followed the Norwegian Martin Moeller Hovda, a new upcoming talent, and the strong Italian Francesco Scagiola.

The results of the last race had a decisive influence on the overall standings. The reason is the second discard kicked in as five eliminations had been completed. This ensured the podium belonged to Jacquin, Asmussen and Langer. Movda settled for fourth place ahead of Frenchman Damien Cervera.
