Discarding both of their DNCs from the last two races, the American pair won gold by a clear 14 points over Mike Holt and Carl Smit (USA).
Holt and Smit held on to second place overnight. Parker Shinn and Eric Anderson (USA) put the pressure on them by regaining three points in the penultimate race. A third for Holt and Smit in the final race was enough for them to clinch the title.
By winning the last race of the series Australia’s Peter Nicholas and Luke Payne advanced to fourth place.
