Regata Chiloé Santander awarded its champions Mitsubishi in Soto40, Caleuche at IRC Chil, Network in IRC, The Olympus in Cruise, Grand Slam in J / 105, Chucru in J / 70 and Quique in J-24 stayed with the titles of the traditional regatta.

Only one single regatta of the Soto40 class could be played on the final day of the XV Chiloé Santander-Bicentennial Regatta of the Chilean Navy, which took place in Puerto Montt. The null wind kept the 70 boats of the seven classes in competition, floating for more than three hours, waiting for a wind boost that would allow them to seal with a flourish of a golden the traditional regatta.

Although the cruisers managed to start their voyage that consisted of a journey through Tenglo Island, it had to be cancelled because after one hour the wind disappeared.

The Soto40 class meanwhile also set off and their first regatta was cancelled due to the wind changing direction and it was not fair for the fleet.  The Race Committee managed to give the start Five minutes from the time limit with an average wind of 6 knots and crowned champion to Mitsubishi of Horacio Pavez, who won the final day. “We gave a great championship and in the bay of Puerto Montt we had a complete day and proud of our first title”, sentenced Juan Eduardo Reid, skipper of Automotive that added 37 points, escorted by Pisco Black-Volvo of Bernardo Matte, in which helms the Olympic Benjamín Grez, then third Santander of Jorge Araneda with Pablo Amunategui at the tiller, both with 40.

Itaú de Dag von Appen, leader until the last date, had a day to forget when he was in place and not only lose the title but also the podium.

Nonetheless, the other classes also celebrated with the titles: In IRC Chile, Caleuche of the Naval School with 13 units after six races and one discard, its followers Chispezza of Andrés Hasbún, also with 13 and Jack Daniel’s of Rodrigo Oyanedel, with 14.

In IRC, champion Red of Pablo Anfruns and Rudolph Mijac with 8, Silver for Pepe Pato of José Tirado and Patricio Rodríguez with 14 and bronze for Ford of Carlos Marsh with 23.

In Cruisers with five regattas and one discard, the most numerous class of the fleet gave all the applause to The Olympus of Mathias Klotz with 9 units, its escorts Selkman of Rodrigo Gumucio with 16 and Sanhattan by Abraham Senerman 17.

And in the J-24 class, the first two, after five regattas, one discard, was Quique of the Naval School 4 points and Triunfante 10, the third Mariscal of the School of Grumetes with 13.
