The sailors racing at the Para World Sailing Championships were faced with rain, grey skies and a steady breeze early on the fourth morning of competition in Kiel, Germany.

Held alongside Kieler Woche (Kiel Week) sailing festival, more than 80 sailors from 39 nations are competing across three classes at the Para Worlds – the Open 2.4 Norlin OD, Men’s Hansa 303 and Women’s Hansa 303, all One Person Keelboats.

Friday’s action saw gusts of up to 28 knots and an average wind speed in excess of 20 knots. The 2.4 Norlin OD completed two races and the Hansa fleets one in the testing conditions before the strong breeze put an end to their day.

The westerly breeze is forecast once again with 16-17 knots on the cards with gusts up to 25 knots ensuring another equally challenging day for the competitors.

Racing will commence at 11:00 local time on the waters off the Schilksee Olympic Centre in Kiel with three races for each fleet scheduled.
