Round 2 of the 2017 World Cup Series in Hyères, France begins today with 541 sailors from 52 nations hitting the water as the hunt for gold gets underway.

Sailors from the ten Olympic classes as well as Open Kiteboarding and the 2.4 Norlin OD, a Para World Sailing event, will be welcomed to France with an easterly 6-10 knot breeze with gusts only adding a single knot. The breeze will stay constant throughout the day but will turn a little towards the afternoon to come in from the south by the end of racing.

The strong winds that everyone thought would be a feature of the regatta won’t kick in until day two so there will be some lighter wind racing to content with before the strong stuff takes hold.
