Sailors ready for Youth Worlds action in Auckland

Over the past few days over 380 sailors from 65 nations around the globe have been arriving for the 46th edition of the Youth Worlds and will be racing between 14 – 20 December.
Registration is complete and supplied equipment has been distributed by the boat manufacturers – Maclaren, Nacra Racing, Nautivela, Neil Pryde and Ovington. Thursday allowed sailors to have their first taste of the waters off Torbay Sailing Club with a number of practice races in a breeze that brought smiles aplenty.
The Youth Worlds will officially be opened after the practice races at the Opening Ceremony to be held at the ANZ Viaduct Event Centre. Kiwi culture and traditional will be at the heart of the evening and the world’s youth sailors will be welcomed by New Zealand’s youngsters.
