World Sailing Rankings - September 2016

The World Sailing Match Race and Fleet Race rankings have been released for September 2016.

Match Racing
 
Remaining top of the Open Match Racing rankings is Taylor Canfield (ISV). Canfield stays ahead of his biggest rival, Great Britain’s Ian Williams who continues to hold the World #2 spot.
 
Winning the 2016 Women’s Match Racing Championship title has solidified Sweden’s Anna Kjellberg as World #1 in the Women’s rankings.
 
Kjellberg now opens up a points cushion back to World #2 Camilla Ulrikkeholm (DEN).
 
Fleet Racing
 
Men’s 470
 
World #1 in the Men’s 470 is held by Rio 2016 silver medallists, Australia’s Mat Belcher and Will Ryan. The team that beat them in the Olympic Sailing Competition, Croatia’s Sime Fantela and Igor Marenic sit at #2.
 
Women’s 470
 
Rio 2016 bronze medallists, France’s Camille Lecointre and Hélène Defrance hold the World #1 spot with Austria’s Lara Vadlau and Jolanta Ogar at #2.
 
49er
 
Holding World #1 spot in the 49er class is Austria’s Nico Delle – Karth and Nikolaus Resch. Following in #2 position is Great Britain’s John Pink and Stuart Bithell.
 
49erFX
 
European champions, Denmark’s Jena Hansen and Katja Salskov-Iversen are World #1 in the 49erFX class with Rio 2016 gold medallists, Brazil’s Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze in #2.
 
Laser
 
New Zealand’s Andy Maloney is currently World #1 in the Laser class with Sailing World Cup Qingdao bronze medallist, Italy’s Giovanni Coccoluto at #2.
 
Laser Radial
 
Olympic champion, Netherlands’ Marit Bouwmeester is World #1 in the Laser Radial with Great Britain’s Alison Young just behind at #2.
 
Finn
 
Brazilian Jorge Zarif holds the World #1 spot in the Finn and sits above Australia’s Jake Lilley who is in #2 position.
 
Nacra 17
 
Billy Besson and Marie Riou (FRA) lead the way in the Nacra 17 at World #1. Italy’s Vittorio Bissaro and Silvia Sicouri are #2.
 
Men’s RS:X
 
Poland’s Pawel Tarnowski is the World #1 in the Men’s RS:X followed by China’s Aichen Wang as #2.
 
Women’s RS:X
 
World #1 in the Women’s RS:X is Netherlands’ Lilian De Geus. Russia’s Rio 2016 bronze medallist Stefania Elfutina is #2.
 
Kiteboarding (Men)
 
Maxime Nocher (FRA) is World #1 in the Men’s section of Kiteboarding. Great Britain’s Oliver Bridge is #2.
 
Kiteboarding (Women)
 
Russia’s Elena Kalinina continues as World #1 in the Women’s Kiteboarding with Stephanie Bridge (GBR) still following at #2.
