"It's not usually like this..." The ever so common phrase used by locals at sailing events around the world whenever the weather conditions don't quite play ball is relevant for the 2016 edition of Sailing World Cup Weymouth & Portland.
“It’s not usually like this…” The ever so common phrase used by locals at sailing events around the world whenever the weather conditions don’t quite play ball is relevant for the 2016 edition of Sailing World Cup Weymouth & Portland.
Light winds have dogged the venue of the London 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition and Saturday’s forecast is much the same as the previous days.
As of 11:00 local time, the 330 sailors from 43 nations racing across the ten Olympic events were postponed ashore. A 7-10 knot south westerly is forecast to kick in from 13:00 onwards and the Race Committee will look to catch up on races lost ahead of Sunday’s Medal Races.
