After day of light and frustrating wind on Wednesday the third day of racing at the Delta Lloyd Regatta is not looking much better. The forecast is for no wind this morning with the prospects of a building wind through the afternoon.

After day of light and frustrating wind on Wednesday the third day of racing at the Delta Lloyd Regatta is not looking much better. The forecast is for no wind this morning with the prospects of a building wind through the afternoon.

The question this morning is whether the wind will arrive in time to allow the busy schedule to be completed.

Some forecasts say wind by 12.00, some until not after 14.00. However the sun is shining and it is a lot warmer in Medemblik today after several days of cold weather. The race team plan to keep running races while there is reasonable daylight.

At the moment, the IJsselmeer looks like a sheet of glass. Follow the updates below.

Today the Olympic and Paralympic fleets are joined by the Moth class.

Schedule for the day:
10.30 2.4mR (2 races)
10.30 49er M/W(3 races)
11.00 Laser (2 races)
11.00 RS-X Women (3 races)
11.00 Moth (3 races)
13.00 Sonar (2 races)
13.30 Laser Radial (2 races)
13.30 RS-X Men (3 races)
13.30 470 M/W (2 races)
13.30 SKUD18 (2 races)

Alphonus Doerr (USA) will be looking to maintain his team’s lead in the Sonar fleet in the Para Sailing World Championship of the Sonar fleet. But he knows it wont be easy. “These guys are very competitive. That’s the exciting part of this fleet. Every day you go out there you feel like you’ve earned it. You make one mistake and you let five boats go by so there’s always a premium about thinking about the race course and not doing risky things.”
