Job Description
World Sailing is the world governing body for the sport of sailing, officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
 
World Sailing is responsible for: the promotion of the sport internationally, managing sailing at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, developing the Racing Rules of Sailing and regulations for all sailing competitions, the training of judges, umpires and other administrators, the development of the sport around the world and representing the sailors in all matters concerning the sport.
 
World Sailing is seeking to appoint a Head of Legal Affairs & Governance which is a newly created role reporting to the CEO. This person will provide in-house legal advice and support to World Sailing and its subsidiary companies and lead on all matters related to corporate governance.
 
You will need to be a practising Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales with a substantial post qualification experience with demonstrable experience of contracts (including commercial), procurement, intellectual property, sports law and corporate governance. You will be comfortable operating at a strategic level and ‘hands on’ operational delivery, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
