During the Para World Sailing Championships in Williamstown, Australia last December, French sailor Damien Seguin made it four World Championships victories in the 2.4mR.
Seguin added the 2015 world title to gold medals at Sailing World Cup Hyeres and the Delta Lloyd Regatta before he rounded off a fantastic year with gold at Sailing World Cup Melbourne to continue his hot streak in the 2.4mR.
Finishing above Germany’s Heiko Kroeger in second, and Australia’s Matt Bugg in third at the Para Worlds, Seguin is taking good form in to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. But as Seguin talks of his achievements, and with sailing omitted from the Paralympic program in Tokyo 2020, the Frenchman has hits sights firmly set on other targets in the sport, with the Vendee Globe high on his list of ambitions.
