Great day for Muscovy Ducks + How to Follow #SWCMiami16

A torrential morning downpour was perfect for the Muscovy Duck that resides in Miami, Florida but for the 711 sailors competing at Sailing World Cup Miami presented by Sunbrella, not so much.

The Muscovy Duck appears in high densities in Miami, much like the world’s finest Olympic sailors who have travelled from 64 nations to compete on Biscayne Bay. Whilst the Muscovy Ducks are enjoying the cool climate present in Miami at the moment the sailors have faced challenges from a light breeze, torrential downpours and lengthy waits.

Sailing World Cup Miami venues – US Sailing Center Miami, City of Miami’s Regatta Park, Coconut Grove Sailing Club, Coral Reef Yacht Club and Shake-A-Leg Miami – were covered in grey clouds on Thursday morning that brought consistent torrential rainfall that, as of 09:00 local time, does not look like ceasing anytime soon.

Happiness for the ducks, frustration for the sailors.

Further periods of rain are forecast for the afternoon with risk of thunderstorms added into the equation.

In terms of the breeze, the forecast is fair. A southerly breeze is expected to fill in throughout the day ranging from 15-20 knots.
