The final day of the Youth Sailing World Championships will produce the next crop of gold medal champions, but some classes are too close to call.
There are only a couple of points between the top few places in the 29er boy’s and girl’s, RS:X girl’s and 420 girl’s, so today will be all or nothing in the race for gold.
The Laser boy’s may have been sewn up by Australia’s Alistair Young on day five, but the girl’s is still open and Hungary’s Maria Erdi has her nose just in front.
Langkawi, Malaysia is forecast to be closer to the lighter winds all the competitors were expecting before the regatta.
With almost half the wind that has gone before, 10 knots are expected which will gust to 15-16 knots. What has stayed the same is the easterly direction and the light currents which provide the flat sailing water.
There is lot’s of action ahead on the final day.
