Wednesday - Youth Worlds - How to Follow - Day 2

There was strong wind for all yesterday and it’s looking to be more of the same for day 2 of the Youth Sailing World Championships in Langkawi.

With an earlier start than yesterday to avoid the low tide, the sailors will be heading out in to an 18 knot easterly breeze which has been forecast to slowly drop to around 12-14 knots later in the day.

The sun is shining yet again with the temperatures staying up around the 30 degree mark. Relatively flat water from the light currents mimic the previous days racing, so for the ones that sailed it well, they wil be looking for more of the same, where as others will be hoping they can take the lessons learned and better their results.

The SL16 fleet were unable to race on Tuesday due to a shipping delay in advance of competition. The full quota of equipment is due to arrive very shortly with racing scheduled to start at the earliest possible opportunity. The fleet will look to catch up on the races missed, utilising the championships reserve day of Friday 1 January.
