Smiles on the final Melbourne day + How to follow live racing

It’s all smiles at the Sailing World Cup with a brilliant Melbourne summer’s day and most importantly, breeze forecast for the closing Medal Races.

This morning’s light north to north-easterly is expected to swing to a sea breeze direction,  south-east to south-westerly in the early afternoon and increase to 15 -20 knots.

Invited classes open the final day racing schedule at 10:00 and the first Olympic class off is the Finn at 11:50 on the stadium course off the St Kilda Sailing Precinct and Pier. The program will roll through until the closing act, the IKA Kites starting at 16:20 local time.

Straight after each Medal Race the top three finishers will head ashore to the presentation stage next to the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron to receive their medals and sponsor’s prizes.

The Medal Race is a double point earner with each winner automatically moving to the next stage of World Sailing’s definitive international series for the best in the Olympic and Paralympic world, the Sailing World Cup Miami event in January.
