Tracking Tuesday - Aquece Rio, the Olympic Test - How to Follow - Day 4

The fourth day of the Aquece Rio – International Sailing Regatta 2015 will see tracking and a competition status screen available on the ISAF website.

Click here to access the Tracking and Competition Status Screen – www.sailing.org/olympics/rio2016/multimedia/live_tracking.php

Tracking allows sailors, fans and the general public to watch racing via an aerial computer image of the racing with key analytics feeding into the page. Boat speed, mark roundings, predictive overall position and the race itself is displayed.

The Competition Status Screen feeds in straight from the Race Committee boats with the teams inputting data such as race times, course type, the status of each race and the plan moving forward.

In terms of competition for the day, it’s a case of back to business for the 470s and RS:X with the Laser, Laser Radial, Finn and 49erFX looking to catch up on their schedule. The 49er and Nacra 17 will enjoy a day of rest.

A southerly afternoon breeze is a common occurrence in Rio and will be the case once again on 18 August. Breeze in the region of 4-8 knots will come through for the fleets on the inside race tracks whilst it will be slightly stronger, in the region of 5-10 knots outside of Guanabara Bay.
