ISAF is delighted to be able to invite delegates to attend the 2016 ISAF Development Symposium set to be held in Singapore from 2-4 February 2016.
The 2016 ISAF Development Symposium will be hosted in collaboration with the ISAF Member National Authority for Singapore, the Singapore Sailing Federation. The Symposium will be delivered from Hotel Jen Orchardgateway as well as the Singapore Sports Institute.
Dr. Ben Tan, President of the Singapore Sailing Federation, has said, “Singapore is truly honoured to host the 2016 ISAF Development Symposium and we look forward to welcoming delegates from the world over. This presents a great opportunity to catalyse the development and growth of sailing in a highly populous region that is ready to embrace the sport. The symposium will leave a strong framework and structured approach to growing the sport.”
In its fifth consecutive year, the 2016 ISAF Development Symposium welcomes Training and Development focused MNA representatives. The delegates participate in discussion-oriented workshops, where guest speakers and delegates have the opportunity to engage in an array of subjects regarding the development of sailing nationally, regionally and globally.
Complementing the work of the ISAF Training and Development department, the report from the symposium helps the ISAF Development and Youth Committee gather valuable information on how work can continue to develop, giving those delegates present from Developed or Emerging Nations a much needed chance to have their voices heard.
ISAF Vice President, Nazli Imre, commented, “ISAF is very grateful to the Singapore Sailing Federation in their support of this exciting event and are looking forward to seeing many of our Asian MNAs represented as well as many more from other regions. The 2016 Symposium will be my last as ISAF Vice-president for Development, and I’m confident that this event will continue to grow.’’
In order to take advantage of preferential accommodation rates it is advised that MNAs register before 27 November 2015. Those attending must be formally endorsed by their MNA. Delegation is limited to a maximum of two persons per MNA.
