ISAF President Carlo Croce declared the 2015 edition of ISAF Sailing World Cup Weymouth and Portland open on 9 June and with the formalities done, it’s time to race.
Racing is scheduled to commence at 11:00 local time on 10 June and ISAF’s President was pleased that the finest sailing talent was in town for the fourth regatta on the 2015 World Cup series, “I would like to thank all the sailors for travelling from around the globe to be here,” said Croce. “You help move our sport forward, and help us drive our commercial ambitions to grow sailing. So thank you.
“The World Cup series showcases the best of the best for our sport. We have already had successful World Cup events in Melbourne, Australia, Miami, USA and Hyeres, France, and we still have this event and Qingdao, China to look forward to before the centrepiece final in Abu Dhabi in November where we will crown our World Cup Champions.
“Events like the Sailing World Cup promote the sport and help us to attract sponsors and media coverage. You can see the success and progress we have made in a short time with live and exciting TV coverage from channels across the world and live steaming of our Medal Races available to all online.”
