The Royal Yachting Association are seeking a resourceful, committed and enthusiastic individual to operate as a Communications Officer within sailing’s successful World Class Programme and other areas of Racing activity.

The successful candidate will assist the RYA Team GBR Communications Manager in delivering a broad-based, proactive communications strategy to Rio 2016 and beyond.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, candidates will have well-developed written and people skills. A background of dealing with media is preferred, although consideration will be given to outstanding candidates who lack such experience. Since responsibilities include the servicing of RYA websites, IT and organisational skills are essential. Experience in social media and video editing would be beneficial.

Candidates should be able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and to prioritise their workload in a busy environment.

A working knowledge of sailboat racing would be advantageous.

Salary in the range £22,500 – £25,100 : 35 hours per week.
