Rain In The Bay And Beyond

The 324 sailors from 34 nations competing at the Aquece Rio – International Sailing Regatta 2014 woke up to rain on Guanabara Bay and beyond as the predicted cold front came in overnight.

Whilst the front is some way off Rio de Janeiro, Brazil it’s influence is impacting on the race areas. It’s a stark contrast from the day prior with clear blue skies being replaced by cloud cover and minimal wind being replaced by, wind!

A morning south westerly breeze at 10-20 knots will slowly turn to the south east. As it moves round it will decrease slightly before picking up in the afternoon.

With rain and cloud cover the visibility is slight however it will get better as the day goes on with some sunny moments expect.
