South African Youth Team Announced
A strong team of South African youth sailors will be competing in the ISAF Youth World Championships in Tavira, Portugal from 12 - 19 July.
A strong team of South African youth sailors will be competing in the ISAF Youth World Championships in Tavira, Portugal from 12 – 19 July.
The team is:
Laser Radial Boys – Marcello Marcia
Laser Radial Girls – Emma Clark
420 Boys – Dominic Van der Walt and Ryan Robinson
29er Open – Euan & Sean Hurter
SL16 Open – Brandon Wittenberg & Todd Fisher
The 29er Skiff boys, the Hurter brothers, will be competing in two events prior to the ISAF event, and fly out this Friday.
They will compete in Kiel Week in Germany from 21 – 29 June, followed by the Eurocup in Weymouth, United Kingdom, on 5 – 6 July. From there they will join the rest of the South African team in Portugal.
“For our first international out, I am very nervous but that is to be expected. The opportunity that has presented itself is phenomenal and the learning curve is going to be huge! I just want to make sure we make every part of it worth it.” said 18 year old Euan Hurter.
