Light Winds Reign In Laser Europa Cup - Slovenia
The 2014 Europa Cup Series kicked off in Koper, Slovenia 4 - 6 April with over 200 competitors in three Laser classes.

The 2014 Europa Cup Series kicked off in Koper, Slovenia 4 – 6 April with over 200 competitors in three Laser classes.
The conditions were tricky throughout the weekend, day one began with very light winds between 5 – 8 knots coming in from the south west early afternoon.
On day two there was no sailing due to lack of wind but on day three the racing got back underway with light and shifty conditions.
Four races were completed with one discard for the Laser Standards but only two races were completed in the Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 fleets.
Victory in the Laser Standard went to Dany Stanisic (SRB) with a total of 11 points, in second Kraševac Uroš (SLO) had 12 points and wrapping up the podium in third was Pereša Marko (CRO) with 13 points.
Planchestainer Gianmarco (ITA) came out on top of the Laser Radial fleet with two bullets ahead of Faraguna Martha (ITA) in second and Vršèaj Maks (SLO) took third overall.
The only fleet to be won by a girl was the Laser 4.7 by Rochelli Ilaria (ITA) beating the 116 strong fleet. In second and third were fellow Italian’s Fornasari Federico and Bergamo Francesca.
