Although up against it when following the incredible and best ever entry of 174 boats at Lake Como, Italy last year, this year’s fleet of 67 is high quality, with some of the top guns showing their hands in the preceding Australian Nationals/pre-Worlds.
After two days and four races on a windy Lake Macquairie, Australia’s Mark Bulka leads the way followed by Germany’s Christoph Homeier and Italy’s Antonio Lambertini.
Bulka’s lead stands at 21 points over Homeier having notched up two race wins.
Joachim Happrecht (GER) is the leading Master in the fleet and currently sits in fifth whilst Switzerland’s Jacqueline Rüfenacht, currently in 42nd, is the leading female sailor.
