Under 21 Laser And Radial Titles Decided

Life has been difficult at the Balaton Laser Radial and Standard U21 World and European Championships in Hungary, as light winds prevailed all week long.

Over the six days of the Championships only three days provided fair sailing conditions, and overall seven races have been run for all fleets. Light body weight, technical ability, patience, being able to read the wind shifts and a bit of luck seemed to be the winning combination on this regatta.

Despite the less than ideal weather conditions, the pleasant regatta site, the friendly atmosphere, and the fierce battles afloat made this Championship a memorable event.

In the Ladies Radial fleet the World Champion crowned was Svenja Weger (GER) followed by Niki Blässar (FIN) and ClarettaTempesti (ITA).

In Men Standard fleet The World Champion is Mitchell Kennedy (AUS) followed by Hermann Tomasgaard (NOR) and Francesco Marrai (ITA).

The winners received the usual ILCA cube and plaque plus a very nice glass cup or laser boat, large medals and many other presents provided by the sponsors of the event.
