Japan's Sakamoto Takes ISAF Nations Cup Asian Regional Final Title
Japan's Wataru Sakamoto breezed past Maximillian Soh (SIN) at the ISAF Nations Cup Asian Regional Final in Vladivostok, Russia to qualify for August's Grand Final in Denmark.
Japan’s Wataru Sakamoto breezed past Maximillian Soh (SIN) at the ISAF Nations Cup Asian Regional Final in Vladivostok, Russia to qualify for August’s Grand Final in Denmark.
The Japanese sailor moved past Ilya Ermakov (RUS) swiftly taking a 3-0 win whilst Soh overcame Vladimir Lipavsky (RUS) 3-1 in their semi-final.
The final was very much one sided as Sakamoto defeated the Singaporean in a clean sweep.
After racing Soh took to Twitter congratulating the winner:

In the Petit Final Lipavsky overcame Ermakov 2-0 to complete the podium.
Racing in Platu 25s at the Seven Feet Yacht Club skippers six teams from Russia, Singapore, Bahrain and Japan competed in the ISAF Grade 2 regatta.
Sakamoto now advances to the ISAF Nations Cup Grand Final set to be held in Middelfart, Denmark from 6-10 August.
