Brazil and Australia have won the World University Match Racing Chmapionship which wrapped up in Nice, France on Saturday.

Brazil and Australia have won the World University Match Racing Chmapionship which wrapped up in Nice, France on Saturday.
There was no doubt before the Finals of both the men’s and women’s competition as to which nations were taking home the titles with Brazilians Renata Decnop taking on Juliana Senfft for the women’s title and Australians David Gilmour and Jay Griffin competing for the men’s title.
Renata Decnop and her crew Fernanda Decnop, Juliana Mota e Larissa Juk dominated their final defeating Juliana Senfft with Gabriela Sa, Luciana Kopschitz and Marina Jardim 2-1. In the men’s Final, David Gilmour defeated Jay Griffin in two matches.
The bronze medals were won by Julie Bossard (FRA) defeating Alexa Bezel (SUI) and Andrew Shaw (GBR) who defeated Martin Boidin from Denmark.
