The Weymouth and Portland International Regatta allows all of the partners who will be delivering the London 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition to be at the venue and experience the full regatta.
At the venue there are teams of employees and volunteers working hard to test the systems and procedures one year ahead of London 2012.
The London 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition will be a ticketed event, on the experience the spectators will get ISAF Events Manager Alastair Fox said, “For sailing it is a huge and exciting opportunity for us. It is the first time sailing has been an official ticketed sport for the Olympic Games.
“There is a great spectator venue called the Nothe Fort and Gardens. Sailing has sold out and we’ve sold approximately 4,500 tickets for everyday of the Olympic Sailing Competition.
“It is on an ideal slope so spectators can get a really good view of the sailing. There will be giant screens and commentators. I hope there will be a family and festival feeling around the venue. They will have really good access to see what is happening on the water and we hope there will be some good racing that they can all enjoy.”
