An Eventful Third Day
The third day of racing at the Europe World Championship 2007 was characterized by a light wind with the sky dominated with heavy rain shower clouds. This made the direction of the wind a bit variable, an understatement with shifts of 90 degrees. All together this made it an eventful day with sun and heavy rain battling with each other.

This made the direction of the wind a bit variable, an understatement with shifts of 90 degrees. All together this made it an eventful day with sun and heavy rain battling with each other.
This made starting away the sailors hard for the race committee and frequently the black flag had to be used to prevent the sailors to start too early.
Six races have now been completed and the day three winners were: Michael MØLLER HANSEN (DEN), Nicklas DACKHAMMAR (SWE) and Marcus DACKHAMMAR (SWE) (two wins in one family) and in the women’s fleet Juhl, LASSE (DEN), Rebecka HARDING (SWE) and Marie Amandine VANDEGHINSTE (BEL).
Leading overall in the women’s fleet is Svenja PULS from Germany who sailed her worst race yesterday, scoring a ninth, but returned to form in race six picking up her third second place finish of the Championship. A fantastic day for Marie Amandine VANDEGHINSTE (BEL) sees her taking the number two spot on equal points from Denmark’s Anette VIBORG.
Mathias MOLLATT from Norway had his worst race yesterday, posting a 12 in race six but his string of top five results keeps him at the top of the leaderboard but snapping at his heels is Sven STADEL from Spain who fared even worse in race 6 scoring a 26. Both these sailors discard these scores and have a solid 8 point lead ahead of third placed Gerard MARIN (ESP).
