It was a disappointing day for the gold fleet at the ISAF Grade C1 Laser European Championship, as very light winds put pay to their first day of racing in Hyères, France. This leaves Tom SLINGSBY (AUS) in the lead, with just one day of racing remaining.

Two races did get underway in a very light but shifty southerly breeze, but both resulted in abandonment. With just Friday left for the gold fleet to get in any racing, SLINGSBY leads by two points from Nick THOMPSON (GBR). Michael LEIGH (CAN) is a further four points back in third.
In the Youth Europeans, Igor LISOVENKO (RUS) leads from Emil CEDERGARDH (SWE) and Gael GUILBAULT (FRA).
