Germany Victorious

16 teams from 14 countries participated in the Optimist Team Cup on the Wannsee in Berlin from 28-29 October. The hosts took the title to provide them with the perfect warm up for next month’s Worlds in Uruguay.

The German national team, ranked top on aggregate team results at last year’s Worlds, lost out in the 2005 Team Racing Worlds to Trinidad and Brazil. They have clearly been training for a better placing at the 2006 Worlds next month in Uruguay, taking the Team Cup ahead of Italy, with Denmark in third place.
