Obituary

It is with great sadness ISAF reports that Ken ELLIS, a dedicated supporter of sailing who spent 20 years serving on ISAF Committees and was awarded an ISAF Silver Medal, has died at the age of 70.

Ken, who had been suffering from cancer for some time, died whilst helping to organize a fundraising dinner at the Royal Yacht Squadron for RYA Sailability, of which he was a Trustee.

Ken was a tireless worker for the Royal Yachting Association and, more latterly, for RYA Sailability, for more than 25 years and was RYA Chairman from 1996-2001.

Ken was involved with ISAF over many years, initially as a member of the ISAF Centreboard Boat Technical Committee from 1976-1990 and subsequently a member of the ISAF Council from 1998-2004.

Ken was awarded the ISAF Silver Medal in 2004 for his long standing contribution to the sport of sailing and ISAF.

ISAF extends our sincere sympathy and condolences to Ken’s wife Sue, family and friends.
