The first day of the Soling Masters World Championship 2006 started with blustery, clearing winds from west to southwest, blowing 5 to 22 knots and shifts of about 30 to 40 degrees which made it difficult but interesting to sail.

The first day of the Soling Masters World Championship 2006 started with blustery, clearing winds from west to southwest, blowing 5 to 22 knots and shifts of about 30 to 40 degrees which made it difficult but interesting to sail.


20 Teams started the Zipfer cup at 1400 local time yesterday, from which 11 are also competing in the Masters World Championship.


The first race was won by Michael FELZMANN, Björn GILHOFER, Markus GNAN (AUT) with the current World Champions Roman KOCH, Maxl KOCH and Gregor BORNEMANN (GER). In third were former Olympians Michael FARTHOFER, Christian HOLLER and Richard HOLLER (AUT).


The second race was won by local lake team and defending Masters World Champions Carl AUTERIED, Martin KENDLER and Udo MOSER (AUT) followed by KOCH, KOCH, BORNEMANN (GER) and by local sailor Michale FELZMANN.
