Awards Nominations Time

The board of Yachting New Zealand has recently approved the Olympic Games 2008 – Olympic Selection Policy for Nomination to New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) as the instrument for selecting sailors/ teams of sailors for nomination to the NZOC, which will select the 2008 New Zealand Olympic Team.

Nominations are due by 1 September 2006.

The categories are:

• Honour Awards


• Merit Awards


• President’s Award


• Young Sailor of the Year


• TQ3 Navigant Sailor of the Year

The Yachting New Zealand Excellence Awards 2006 ceremony will be on Friday 10 November at the RNZYS in Auckland.

Nominations are also being accepted for the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards 2006 – the pinnacle award of recognition in the sport of sailing. Nominations can be made until 1 September 2006. Find out more HERE.
