ASHLEY Continues Winning Streak
The penultimate day of racing was as predicted, light and shifty from the North-East. The first race started on time at 1100 however due to the unstable conditions only three out of the four scheduled races were sailed.

Tom ASHLEY (NZL) continued his winning streak taking, his fourth consecutive bullet for the regatta. Due to the fading breeze, sailors spent a lot of time waiting around both on and off the water. Jon-Paul TOBIN claimed victory in race 8, moving up the leaderboard into second place ahead of Przemek MIARCZYNSKI (POL) in third place. In race 9, David ROBERTSON (NZL) lead from the start to a few meters from the finish. When seaweed collected on his fin on the last downwind leg he lost his comfortable lead and the race by a matter of meters. ASHLEY remains in first place overall with a six point lead over TOBIN.

In the women’s fleet, the racing remains very close, with only two points separating second to fifth place. Justina SELLERS (NZL) won the first two races of the day followed by a fourth place moving her up to third overall just one point behind Hayley THOM. Anna EASON has a seven point lead going into the last day of racing.
There are three races scheduled for tomorrow with similar conditions expected the first starting signal at 1100.
