Once again the sailor from Port-La-Forêt has shone in this event which is one he has had much success with over the years. He now has three victories to his name (2001, 2003 and 2004) out of the seven times he has take part.
Finishing ahead of Charles CAUDRELIER, recent winner of the Single-handed Afflelou Figaro Race, who took part in the Troph’e Clairefontaine for the first time. He quickly took his marks, since he won the first leg yesterday morning, but his sailing was not regular and did not put Michel Desjoyeaux’s leadership at risk.
As for Olivier Backes, who recently finished fourth in the Tornado Class at the Olympic Games in Athens, he also had a place on the podium. Second place slipped away from him by just one point.
