Rolex Calendar Released
Rolex have been gradually increasing their level of worldwide yachting event sponsorship since 2001 and before. 2004 boasts a grand total of 18 events throughout the year with a further six dates already planned for 2005.

Rolex have been gradually increasing their level of worldwide yachting event sponsorship since 2001 and before. 2004 boasts a grand total of 18 events throughout the year with a further six dates already planned for 2005.
New editions to the Rolex fraternity for 2004 include the New York Yacht Club’s 150 Anniversary Regatta, to be held from the club’s Newport, Rhode Island base. This year also sees the 60 anniversary of the Sydney Hobart Race, which Rolex joined as title sponsor in 2001.
The exclusive watch manufacturers can now boast a number of other classic offshore races in their stable: The Rolex Middle Sea Race, The Rolex Fastnet, and the Giraglia Rolex Cup to name but a few.
As well as the offshore stable, the only ISAF Grade 1 Olympic Classes event to be held in the USA is currently underway in Miami at the Rolex Miami OCR, highlighting Rolex’ diversity in their support of the sport of sailing worldwide.
On 9 November 2004 in Copenhagen, the sports most prestigious title, that of the ISAF Rolex World Sailor Of The Year Awards, will be bestowed upon the two most deserving individuals or teams of the past 12 months. Title sponsors since 2001, recent winners of the award include Russell COUTTS (NZL), Siren SUNDBY (NOR), Ben AINSLIE (GBR), Emilia TSOULFA and Sofia BEKATOROU (GRE), Robert SCHEIDT (BRA) and Ellen MACARTHUR (GBR).
