Measurement Underway, Before First Speed Tests This Afternoon
Yesterday's Opening Day of the Youth Multihull Trials was focused on Registration of the boats. A Welcome drinks party hosted by the Ecole Nationale de Voile (ENV) was held yesterday evening.

Yesterday’s Opening Day of the Youth Multihull Trials was focused on Registration of the boats. A Welcome drinks party hosted by the Ecole Nationale de Voile (ENV) was held yesterday evening.
Today, sees measurement underway, with the boats being weighed and measured before an informal free-sailing period this afternoon.
Yesterday, the wind was north-easterly 12-15 knots, sunny, but very cold. The forecast for the rest of the week is for 15 knots today and on Wednesday, before being dominated by a low pressure on Thursday and Friday. Winds forecast are for 20-30 knots with some gusts reaching 40 knots. Due to this forecast, the schedule has been altered with two speed tests being carried out this afternoon, after the morning measurement session.

With eight boats entered for the trials, the majority are modified designs/rig configurations. The one entry which has been specifically designed to the ISAF criteria is the Hobie Concept, otherwise known as “The Max”.
